Quality control
For each translation project, Elegant Translation Service has prepared stringent SOP to ensure translation quality.
(1)Cautiously select translation personnel
First, Elegant Translation Service believes that translation quality is not secured through "inspection", instead, it is manufactured. Therefore, at the source of translation, the selection of translators, we have made our efforts. At Elegant Translation Service, all the translators have to be tested and sorted, they must have good language command as well as professional background.
(2)Understand the expertise of translators
Elegant Translation Service has put a stringent review/evaluation system on every translator, we have good understanding on the expertise of every translator in order to ensure the translation quality.
(3)During the translation process
After getting translation case from customer, Elegant Translation Service will select the most appropriate translator from its database to do the translation, then tell the translator notices and delivery date of the translation case. For larger translation project, we will ask translator to deliver the translation work in several times to facilitate the tracking of translation quality and the seizing of translation progress. If errors found, translator will be asked for necessary correction.
(4)After finishing the translation
After finishing the translation case, Elegant Translation Service will let senior proofreader to do proofreading and review. In this process, spelling, typewriting and grammar errors will be removed, meanwhile, terms consistency will be ensured. Finally, desktop publisihing will be conducted to ensure that the translation document can match the original document in figure and format.
Why the translation quality of Elegant Translation Service is reliable？
Elegant Translation Service is very good at translating master or PHD thesis(especially Chinese/English). We have customers from National Taiwan University, Department of Material Sciences and Engineering of National Tsing Hua University, Department of Electrical Engineering of National Ocean University, and we are highly recognized by these customers. First, you might say that student might have lower quality requirement, but actually not, advisor(usually PHD from English-speaking countries)behind the student is usually very picky, and it is not so easy to get qualified from these advisors. What should customers do if they have comments on the translation quality after translation?
If customer has opinion on translation quality, please highlight it with different color on the file, then send back the file to our company, we will follow customer's opinion to make appropriate review and necessary correction on the translation document free of charge. Sometimes, the keywords used by translators might not meet the expectation of customer, if you have found this, please tell us, our company will follow customer's instruction to make appropriate revision on the entire article free of charge.
The quality problems or opinions that customers often proposed:
Translation fields are so diversified, although Elegant Translation Service has tried its best to find out the most appropriate translator for its customer, yet some key words used might not meet customer's expectation(this might be just a very small percentage of the entire article, for example, far less than 2%). If customer has found such problem, customer can list those key words in a table and give it to us, and we will revise for customer free of charge. For one Chinese term, there might be several expressions in English, strictly speaking, this is not the translator's fault, if customer has the need of special terms for the translation work, please tell us, we can revise the article for you.
